MOCA : Arts in the Street

Amado and I ventured to Little Tokyo early Saturday morning to make sure
we're one of the first ones to line up for Art in the Street exhibit at MOCA.
I've been waiting for months for this exhibit to finally open.

It was very exciting to finally see some pieces by the artists I've seen on the
documentaries I've recently watched.
Thank you Netflix!

They even had Stephen Sprouse!

André

Margaret Kilgallen

Space Invader
Amado has a few more of Space Invader's stuff on his phone.
He made it a game to find as much as he can while we were walking around.

Shepard Fairey : Andre the Giant/OBEY

I love the street photography they had.

Keith Haring
I wish they had more of his work in color.
They had a section with about 5-6 pieces that were done with chalk.

Banksy
Definitely the most visited part of the gallery.

After walking for hours and we headed over to Little Tokyo for lunch.
Dropped by Nijiya first.

Not really sure why they always pose the same way but I make Amado copy
their poses every time we go to a Japanese market.
This is the first time he let me post one.

We had lunch at Frying Fish.
My favorite conveyor belt sushi spot.
I love going here.
Definitely bring back memories of me roaming around LA with
my Uncle Mike :)

And check this out, a shout out!
Well not really but I though it was pretty cool.

Congrats Ryan and Holly

A few friends and family got together for my cousins Ryan and Holly's
SEX PARTY! (to find out the sex of the baby).
I'm going by what she named the invite so don't go crazy now.

The soon to be Mom and Dad

While everyone enjoyed and mingled with each other, I think we all anxious to find out
what's inside the envelope.

And they're having a...

Congrats again Ryan and Holly.
Can't wait to meet Sullivan.

I Love My Sunday

I'm not really big on birthdays and didn't plan to change anything for this year.
I wanted to just stay in and relax, no big hoopla.
For my 30th birthday, I woke up next to the ones that matters the most to me.

We had a little one sneak in the room early in the morning to join us in bed.
Oh and I did get a great gift from Amado for my 30th.
Looking to put it to use as much as possible.
Thank you!
Terutu!

Nostalgia : MixTape

I miss mix tapes.
The process was tedious but I enjoyed every minute of making one.
Making sure the right song will be up next on the radio.
Trying your best to make a clean transition between two songs.
The title of the mix.
And if you got one from someone, you know they took their time to make it.

Its not the same as the original but just a quick look at my phone sends me
back to those times when I would lay on my bed with my radio and a stack of blank tapes.

Mia Jolie

This past weekend, we added another godchild to our list.
 Meet Mia Jolie!

Amado and Mia

We're also her brother's honorary godparents since we always complain
that all we have are god daughters.
Its great seeing Jhodel all grown up.
